First Hunt..... Im addicted
 

My first hunt ever was over the weekend in NY. It took us about 1 hour to reach the top of the mountain we were hunting on. When I got to where I thought was a good place to set up, I stepped on a twig and a huge buck grunted and took off. I couldnt get a clean shot and was pissed. That would have been too easy anyway, so I got comfortable and started the waiting game. 3 hours later a huge doe walked by and I took the shot. One shot dropped her and boy is she tasty. I think I might be addicted to deer hunting. Looking forward to bagging a nice buck.

Not bad for a first ever hunt.

It is addictive. I love being in the woods. BTW I bet the noise the buck made wasn't a grunt but blowing out air. The does do that alot as do bucks (just not as often) Not saying he didn't grunt but if I had to guess....

Way to go! I just finished reading an article in field & stream about how the number of people hunting today is on the decline. Its a real problem so it always makes me happy to see a new "addict"!

I hunted for 2 yrs before I got a deer.

I like being outdoors but for me it's "The THRILL of the KILL!"

Hell I hunted 6 years before I got my first deer and it happend to be a buck, it took 12 years before I got my first wall mounter. But have gotten deer every year since 1996. Bow and gun.

Your pretty lucky;)Most people's first hunts are unsuccesful.
