HuntingNet.com Forums - a good but bad weekend

opening morning of rifle season i got out 15 minutes late and sat down pissed off. So i was sitting there watching a squirrel then i heard grunting looked over and there was a nice 8 looking at me. He stepped behind a tree and turned so i pulled my gun up and waited for him to pop out but i never saw him again can u say bad luck.
then on the evening hunt i got out at 2 and climbed up my tree and at about 3 i reached for my phone and 2 does took off behind me. I got up turned aimed and shoot in a tiny opening. they stood there for like 5 seconds then ran they came walking back up and i aimed and pulled and my gun clicked. WOW huh then they ran. the bullet had a dimple in it but didnt go off. so before dark someone unloaded behind me so i got down and walked into the powercut and a doe was laying there staring at me so i finished her off so she didnt suffer i got back to camp and they made me tag the doe someone already shot and wounded so i got even more pissed and the next morning i passed a very small spike and that was my great opening weekend
