£450 for red stag shoulder mount

£220 for a roe buck shoulder mount

Pretty expensive around here as there are only 6 registered taxidermists in Scotland.

About $550. This is in NE Pennsylvania. Just got this one back. It took 7 months. I got it in October. If I got it in rifle, it would probably take 8-10 months.

It's really dependent on where you live. Prices are usually based on what the market will bear. I'm sure a taxidermist in the suburbs of Hollywood or NYC will charge more than one in the rural mid-west.

Call a few guys in your area and see what the price seems to average.

Looks like we are ranging from $250-$600 on this board, which is nation-wide.

These were done by a guy in North Branch MN for under $300.00. Got them back in less than 3 months.

One thing I can tell you is make sure your deer hide is tanned before it is mounted. If a taxidermist is using dry preservative it is a cheaper job. Most of the forms I buy cost about $50, eyes $12, hide paste, thread, tanning oil, salt, pickle solution, soap, clay, epoxy, staples, scalpul blades, gloves, bondo, dry preservative on the skull plate only, screws, etc. It's safe to say I have $100 wrapped up in a mount without labor. Those guys charging $175 are not making anything. $350 gets you a good mount around here.
