Help Identify this Disease
These are the two most notable things that I noticed when I skinned my doe this evening I shot west river. She was noticably skinny and had zero fat storage. Her hide was abnormally thin and tore very easily when I went to skin her out. I don't belive that she was that old but she was a dry doe. I watched her come down from a ridge being pushed by a small buck and she seemed to act normal as far as walking and attitude but I let her get close she had to obviously smell me as she was directly down wind and did look up at me several times but seemed to have no bother. I did some research on the I-net but found nothing that really stuck out to explain this. Anyone ever seen a deer with these symtoms?

To many cigaretes and Coffee. LOL
Wierd... Did you finish cutting her up. I'm wondering if I would eat the meat. |
RE: Help Identify this Disease
Ha she would have had a ways to travel to get to the nearest smoke shop. The GFP officer came out today and took a look went back outside called the state bioligist and hes comming to pick her up later tonight. They also sent the local GFP officer out to locate the gut pile and pick that up if the coyotes and bobcats have'nt got to that yet. He said hes never seen anything simialer to this either. I have cleaned alot of deer but I have never seen one with ribs like this. They are no bigger than a pencil. It seems as if her entire bone structure was deteriorating.
