All I did was scrape out the ground like a deer would. With somthing that wont leave any sent. Then i put in some active scrape scent. and hung my dripper of it seemed to work. I ended up having a buck make 20 scrapes around it. I couldnt belive it.

I'm trying a mock scrape this year as well. Made a scrape about 20 feet from a real one. Picked out an overhanging branch and broke it a lil bit, made scrape below it, then hung the auto dripper up high directly above the scrape with some mock scrape scent. Also put a lil on the scrape plus on the broken twig as well. Sure enough I have bucks scrapeing in it daily.. Hopeing to catch him when he's there.
Dont step in it and dont leave your sent on anything. Use rubber gloves when touching anything and if you are useing a drip bag, spray it with a de-scent spry when your done.
Hope it helps..
