does rattling work to call in deer? when is the best rut phase to rattle?

Absolutely it works. I think you can get responses at any time during the rut, but my experience has been early on when the bucks start getting that feeling, and will fight anyone, but I think later in the rut they are more concerned with is getting a little love.

haha ok so breeding phase wouldnt be a good time to rattle? what about post rut?
