RE: Rut in Virginia is Typically when!
Usually the rut starts at the beginning of the month and runs for two weeks, but some years its early and some years its late. Do to the moon phase i would say the rut here in va will kick off and 6 to 10 days and run for about 2 weeks. Ive been hunting a lot and there not rutting yet, seems to me that will change shortly.

the rut is almost in here in SW virginia. Have seen plenty of rut action in the deer woods. Last year the rut came in right before Nov. 3 (opening day of M/L last year) because the weather was much colder. I and many other people are expecting it to be in full swing next week.

Some good info in the South Forum under the thread Virginia Rut Watch. Also check out the blog in my sig. as it has some info. how my brother and I hunt the rut. If you have any questions regarding the timing or triggering of the rut- shoot me a PM. I'd love to help!
