got one yesterday evening, not what i expected....
 

this is embarrassing. i was hunting yesterday afternoon over a food plot. three bucks had just came out together, a six point, an eight point, and a nice wide ten. i was raising my rifle to get on the ten point, but forgot my cell phone was in my lap. it fell and managed to hit every single rung on the aluminum ladder. of course, all the bucks scattered. the ten and the eight ran in the same direction, and i quickly got on the ten point and fired. he dropped in his tracks. needless to say, i was pumped. i half ran across the field and when i got to him, i started cussing up and down. i shot the wrong buck! [&o]in the heat of the moment when they all took off i thought i was on the big ten, but in reality i had shot the eight point. anyway just thought i'd share to give a few of you a laugh. heres a pic of his rack, bad pic but i was alone and had to take it with my phone. laugh away everybody.

Don't be ashamed of that deer!Why would anybody laugh at that?Looks like a descent 8pt to me,i'd be glad to shoot that buck.If i was embarassed of it,i do't think i would have posted it.Good deer!

I would of shot that sucker any day, but i do understand why you would be upset if there was a bigger one that you meant to shoot. Either way that is a nice buck. Congrats.

no doubt i'm proud of him, i've hunted hard this season and it paid off,and he's a decentbuck. the reason i was embarrassed was because i shot the wrong deer [&:]i posted it because i figured it would give a few people a laugh over the whole situation. having a perfect shot on a nice ten, cell phone falling down the ladder, and shooting the wrong deer in the end. [X(]but i'm still glad to have taken this one, now i have to get out there and get that ten point to go along with him in the freezer :Dthanks for the replies guys. oh yeah arrow the point i'm calling the eighth is his right brow tine, its broken off some but i figured it was long enough to count ;)

i agree, i love the satisfaction of watching a buck tumble on a running shot. i get plenty of practice on running targets from the hogs around here. shoot one standing still and then pop the others as they run away :D
