Too many HNI visitors?

Txhunter, you need to lighten up a little bit. I am sure these people who ask questions have a reason in asking them. If you are a seasoned hunter, in which I think you are, is it asking too much to help someone who ask a question? Maybe there is a reason why they can' t sign up, why don' t you ask them?
I don' t know a whole lot about a damn thing, just a little of some, but if someone ask me a question in here or on the street about hunting or whatever, I like to think I can help someone out if I happen to know the subject. These people who ask questions are our future to hunting, ignore them and then where do they go to get the right response? ANTI' s? This forum is put here as a tool to assist us to help the members and public in promoteing my sport of hunting, and I will help those who ask from my past experience and by my own previous mistakes.
Respectfully, Bobby

I think most the hni visitor questions are from young, begining hunters. I understand them not wanting to post here, i to was the same way before. When i first started reading these forumns i saw alot of " flaming" that was something i wanted to avoid, maybe they are the same way. after reading this site for a long time and seeing not everyone was rude i to started posting. i have terrible grammer, spelling skills and not one person had pointed that out in almost 500 post

Boy did I get a deserved thrashing! All the above reasons are good ones to reply. I guess I am wondering how we know that the person who asked the question is even still listening. I am all for helping newbies and " lurkers" , but what is the process? When someone emails you a question, do you email them back and tell them where to find the post? Otherwise how do you know they even find/view the question/answers?
If I know that the person who asked will be watching the answers, then sure it is a worthwhile thing. Also, you are correct, it does start some interesting disscussions. Just seems like there are an awful lot of them.
I will shut up now.

Christine B,
After you receive the emails and then post them do you email the HNI Visitor to tell them where their anonymous thread is located? What % of the time does the HNI Visitor ever email you a second time with any indication of receiving any benefit? In your personal estimation, what % of these HNI Vistors are children? Does the HNI staff ever create HNI Visitor threads just to get things going when the boards are slow?
txhunter58,
Your question may be debatable but has some strong and valid aspects which should not be just lightly brushed aside. Part of helping someone is knowing you' ve helped them and seeing the comprehension in their following replies. How does one know if the time and effort spent to compose an articulate response ever reaches its intended audience and that the originator of the thread really " gets it" if there is no feedback from the other end? Seems a little bit voyeur-like to me.

Well said Elkcamp, and I can understand some of your frustration Txhunter, everyone is limited due to there own schedule on which post they want to reply to and if you take 15, 20 or so minutes in replying to a topic, it would be nice to get some kind of att-a-boy and as you said sometimes they don' t respond back, but its kinda like hunting, its the small percentage of the crowd that gives there cause a bad reputation, but maybe I can make a difference.

Moderators do not post the questions. Administration does. So, I do not think that any of us have any idea as to whether or not administration " forwards" the answers to the original HNI Visitor. However, I would be willing to bet that HNI Visitor, in general, probably reads the replies to the thread on the forum and then signs up based on friendliness of the responses and the quality of the information presented.
