gatorade and water. No caffine, I have a hard time sitting anyhow. You need energy in the cold, water for hydration. I also like black licorice (deer like that) and peppermint blasts cany. wakes you up .

Everything I've read indicates that as long as a deer doesn't associate a certain smell with humans they will not be spooked by it.

Usually just bring water and trail mix and/or "granola bar". Extremely cold days when I plan tosit in the tree stand 6-7-8 hours or more, I'll bring a small thermos of hot chocolate, and maybe a couple of PB & J or cheese sandwichs.

I'm with mojotex on this one. It's hot chocolate and pband j for me too, that is if there is any HC in the cupboard, otherwise I like the gatorada too. On all day sits, usually one pb and j will hold me over. If any more than that nature usually calls, that costed me my chance at a very nice buck one year[:@]

I have a hydration bladder in my pack with h2o and I usually take a granola bar or two. I also have my can of Skoal Straight with me at all times and that has never caused any problems for me. In fact, my uncle smokes while sitting in his deer stand and that mother f'er always shoots a ton of deer. Watched him shoot three doesin under a minute while the cigarette never left his mouth. I guess I would have to agree with whoever said that deer only spook when they smell something they associate with humans. Apparently tobacco is not something they associate with deer.
