Default What Would You Do ?

You live close to a disabled and or handy capped person.
You know that this person has been asking around for a place to hunt.
But all the land is leased or is leased to hunting clubs.
All the hunting clubs are full.
The person dosen't have the resourses to drive to public land.

So What would you do?

If you don't see what you would do, PLEASE post what you would do !!

Thank You

If you have the resources why not??

I also take kids hunting too along with some of my friends. I have property that is off limits to everyone for various reasons but I also have places I allow others to come hunt, if they shoot does there only helping me.lol. Some of my besthunts were classmates/teammates in high school/college i took hunting for there first time, some of them are huge into now and taking others hunting themselfs. In this day and age it helps to promote our sport, we could use all the support we can get.

I agree whole-heartedly. I try to take out young hunters out as often as I can. I am sharing my good hunting spot this year with my wife's cousin. He's 16 and it's his first year hunting. I am hoping that he enjoys it as much as we do.

I think it depends on the disabled or handicapped individual. Just because someone is disabled or handicapped doesn't mean that you need to go out of your way to help them over anyone else. I've met some disabled folks that are great people and appreciate any help provided. I've met some who look at everything like the world is against them and actually seem to go out of their way to talk bad about folks who are trying to help them out. (Much like non-handicapped folks, some are nice people and some aren't).

Same with youth hunters. Some are appreciative and really get a lot out of the experience and some just aren't going to get it. They'll bring their i-pod and play video games in the stand and if you don't have a monster buck in their sights within an hour then you failed them.

How you treat people shouldn't depend on how they treat you back, but if they don't appreciate what you are doing for them then there is less of a reason to keep doing it.

Taking someone hunting isn't going to solve all their problems by any means either. If you don't talk with someone 364 days out of the year and take them hunting 1 day, you probably aren't doing a whole lot to improve their quality of life, it is a start, especially if you know it is something they are interested in, but taking it farther than 1 day of hunting would do alot more good.

If start spending time with them, you might realize that you get more out of it than they do.

Oh well, kind of a rambling post, hopefully you can understand where I'm coming from.

I think I do understand what you are saying.
But where I live the people seem to think that all
disabled and or handy capped people are just LAZY NOO GOOD POS.

They don't look at their health problems.
They seem to think all disabled and or handy capped people should just go and get a job.
There are no jobs, in fact healthy people can't get a job.

I have been through gunsmithing school.
And I am in the prosses of starting a gunsmithing shop/store.
It will take some since I only get a little disability check each month.

My Posts are to try to help other disabled,
and or handycapped people have a chance to go hunting.
Some day when I am up and running I will be able to take some one hunting.
But for now I can only make these type of posts.
Hopeing that some where in the world,
Life will be a little better for disabled and or handy capped people.

I have found that the more money people have, the less they care about others.
At least here where I live.

I do know the the members of HNI aren't like that.
So if you know of a disabled and or handy capped person.

Please go to this person and make a difference.
You might find a life long friend.

After all it only takes 1 sickness,
or 1 mishap for you to become a disabled and or handy capped person.

I know it happened to me.

Thank You

well i would probably try to take them hunting if they were truly interested in it. i was started out hunting and fishing by my now disabled grandmother. she was in a 4 wheeler wreck when i was 5 and has been paralyzed from the waist down ever since. but after about 2 years she went back to hunting and has hunted more than most ppl do since then and has killed some really nice bucks. she is able to hunt out of her jeep. just backs it into a shooting lane and uses it for a blind. amazing how close she has had some really nice bucks come in

I've taken some kids and such out hunting befor, not a disabled person, but that is so self-rewarding.
