there are justices who are going to retire.. guess who will be replacing them? Plus, the Supreme Court does not hear every case or every issue. So it is mainly the congress and the president

McCain/Palin has my vote. Just a side note I talked to my sister in law who works at a hospital in Chicago. They are preparing their disaster plans for next tuesday. You know......win or lose for either canidate those Chicago folks won't be able to help them selfs. Proably be some trouble in the streets regardless who wins.

You are correct. They do not hear every case. However, people make it sound like Obama is going to change things so much that we won't even recognize our own beloved country. This simply is not the case. Emotions run rampant during an election year. Once things settle down in a few months and things get back to normal, Washington will not move as quick as either candidate makes it sound like they can make it.

As for the Supreme Court. G.W. Bush hasplaced twoyoung judgeson the bench, one being the Chief Justice. We are going to see Bush's impact for a long time. If Obama or McCain are president for only four years the chances that they will get to name a justice to the Court is a long shot. Whoever is the next president will not be very successful or effective. That is how presidential politics works.

You are correct, both of you but there are many things that work on the fringes of reaching the supreme court. That is how we have so many gun bans now.

Socialized medicine and taxeshave nothing to do with the judicial branch, that will be left up to the liberal legislative and executive branch.

I would love to see a candidate come out and inform the liberal media they are not one of the branches of government which they seem like they think they are now.[8D]

i won't vote for obama simply because i just don't agree with several of his ideas. also he reminds me way too much of clinton. he's a smooth talker and is a master of steering the conversation out of places he doesn't want it to go. you can tell that just by watching the debates. i don't trust him, and he won't be getting my vote. plain and simple.

Vote McCain and were in for more of the same crap. High fuel prices, jobs leaving the country, no taxes for upper class, and more taxes for lower - mid class. Keep the same crap in the white house that we have in there now and were all F*&$ed. This really should be moved to the politics thread.

Really, dosen't the Democratic party support/encourage NAFTA?

Anti 2nd Amendment, socialist, pro-abortion are just a few of the reasons I will NOT be voting for Hussein Obama.
You are wrong.
pro-abortion- you like/want abortions. Meaning you are in favor of infanticide.

pro-choice- you want people to have the freedom to chose what they do with their bodies.

Now if you are actually trying to have believe believe that Obama is for infanticide then you are a manipulator of the truth and should be ignored.

Most people don't realize you can be anti abortion but pro choice.

Sen Obama was asked when human rights begin. He said ' that is above my pay-grade' Really !?!? The office he is seaking is the highest in the land, right?

Sen McCain stated, with out hesitation, ' At conception'

I really hate to mix politics with Hunting, but this election really fits it. Obama is clearly against hunting. He wants to ban guns and hunting. McCain and Palin are hunters. Palin even mentioned that she has a freezer full of meet from animals that she has taken.

Plus, I have a friend that is in the military, stationed overseas. When Obama went over there to "see the troops" he got off the plane, jumped into an amored van and went to a 3 star general's tent. While he was there, soldiers tried to talk to him and he just walked right on by them without even acknowledging them. Do we really want THAT leading our country. NO WAY!!!

MCCAIN AND PALIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you have someone in the military, or are in the military, dont vote for Obama. He will not 'pull' us out of Iraq. If he did, we will be attacked again, no doubt. Also, Dem's have a history of little Military support, and crappy pay raises.

For those of you who think Obama can't have that much effect in 4 years, think again. that kind of talk is absolutely mindless. the liberals (ultra liberals) will have control of the presidency, the house and the senate with a fillabuster majority. This means they can pass what ever they want very quickly with no debate. this means, guns laws, wealth redistribution etc.... And if obama is allowed to seat judges you could see up to 3 new judges in his time. And it's not just the supreme court. It's the lower courts as well. Obama has told us what he wants to do and that's have judges NOT follow the constitution but make it a living document. This means you will have to take into consideration the person and not the rights we all live by. This is BS as far as i am concerned. So if you think that he can't change things you are 100% wrong. He can and he will. the Dem's are seeing this as their chance to get their agenda in place. You will see things move quickly.
