Anyone try the code blue standing estrus
 

I just recently purchased a bottle of code blue standing estrus to see how good it is. I was wondering if anyone else has used it and how good it worked for you?

I've had wonderful success with it. During the full rut I've had deer come up and lick it.

I tried it last year for the first time and shot my biggest buck while using it the first time out. I bought some more this year and again got a nice buck while using it. (you can find a pic of this year's buck in the bowhunting thread under 135 inches of success). I cant say that it works better than anything else, but i can't say anything bad about it either. I will keep investing my money in it though. I think I paid $36.99 plus tax at Cabela's

I tried it2 years ago and had no results from using it,also tried some natural Doe in Estrous scent from a local Farm that raises Deer and collects their urine and it didn't draw any Deer to it either?In the past I have used Tinks and it has drawn Deer in to it most of the time!I bought me one of those Drop Time scent dispensors from Code Blue and may try their Standing Estrous scents 1 more time to see if it works this year?

I got mine for $28 from a small sporting goods store in my town. So its a little better that a year ago.

I am also interested in trying the standing doe stuff this fall, although the local sporting goods store is much more reasonable with the price of $18.99 (heck i won't even buy my wife a bottle of perfume for more than $28.00 lol)

I think it is as good as any. I've had better luck with code blue than tinks..maybe because every body uses tinks and the Deer are used to it..LOL

I had to go give it a try last night after work and 5 min. after i put it out i had a smaller nine point standing behind me with his noise in the air, then he made a scrape. I'm waiting for the big boy with the double drop tines the neighbors seen the other day though.

I've heard the first mistake we all make with Doe estrus scents is use it too soon. In Mich you shouldn't use it til the end of Oct. And I like to use a Doe decoy with it as well. But it's not a guarantee by any means, If you have a Buck in your area that is not already with a Doe and is looking it could work great. But when it doesn't work like magic we think it must be no good. During the Peak Rut it will be hard to get a Mature Buck to come in on scents, their too busy with the real thing. By the second rut (28 days after the peak)when the younger Does come into heat it might work better. Just an opinion, I hunt with an Old guy who dumps it all over the woods and on himself, but I ain't telling him any different. Hedon't come in my Camper, he's got his own..thank god. LOL

I tried, had to choke it down though. Much prefer the taste of tink's over that stuff!

Friend of mine just tried it the other day. Just to see how well it works. No sooner was he about 200yards away, 6 does and 1 buck ran right to the fallen tree he put it on. The buck tore the hell out of that tree while the does stood there watching wondering what the hell his prob is.

I bought some before the season. Paid $10 a bottle and bought 2 bottles. I didn't know it went for that much $$$. I put out a scent wick once, with no result, but also consider I had my kid with me not exactly being quiet. I'll try it tomorrow when I go out on my own.
