Default any way to cut down the recoil

What is the best way to cut down the recoil on a 500 Mossberg. Is there a limb saver recoil pad or something

BT, I put one of Remingtons supercell pads on my 870 this year, night and day difference! I'm sure a limbsaver would probably do the same for the 500, I went from a bruised shoulder after about 3 slugs, to shooting 10+ sugs and only quit because I was out of ammo! 20-30 dollars will make a world of difference.

Pachmayer Decelerator. You might also try either adding some stock weight or going to a managed recoil round.

LimbSaver and Pachmayr recoil pads are both good. You can also have a mercury recoil reducer put in your stock and I think you can also get one to put in your forend for some guns...not sure if they make one for the Mossberg or not. The motion of the mercury during the recoil absorbs some of the shock and then distributes it out so it reduces the immediate recoil and spreads it out over time. They also add weight which helps reduce recoil.

I have a mossberg 500 with the slug barell on it and tell ya what, thing is a mule. I put a limbsavers recoil pad on it and it tamed it down quite a bit. Get one put one.

Knoxx Spec Ops stock. Have one on my 870 and the recoil is very manageable. It really works as advertized. Not the prettiest thing, but it serves the purpose it was created for.
