I like to be out in the woods at least 2 hours before sunrise. Is that too early?

30 minutes before sunrise begins legal shooting hours here. I always try to be setup in my treestand at least 30-45 min before I can shoot.
Very cool to see the sky turn from black to light blue as dawn approaches. Plus the excitement as the woods come alive.

The absolute best time of the day for me. Even though I cannot shoot when it's still dark and I must wait, it's a great feeling just knowing I am ready
and full of anticipation.

Thanks Guys, I find a mixed opinion on this subject. I generally get out crazy early, becauseI am nutty that way but because of other reasons I will not get out in the woods this weekend until about 5:30 am. Which I consider late. I should be up in my stand ( I have a climber) by 6amIt gets light around 7:10 am here in Ohio. I just wanted to check with other hunters and find out what they do.

I like 45 min. befire legal light. It gives plenty of time for me to cool off from the walk-in, lets any disturbance to settle, and lets me get settled in to enjoy the show. I have to agree with jimmy up there, I love watching the light slowly filter in, and see and hear the woods come alive.

Because I'm walking in - in the dark - in the morning, and dont know if I spooked deer when I walked in,I like to get to my standat least an hour and a half before legal shooting hours. That gives the area time to settel down and get back tonotmal. In the afternon Igetthere at least an hour before Ihope to see deer.
