We just stared doing ours the last couple years, you can always bone out the deer and have a local shop grind it and make sausage etc. After 5 or 6 deer we're down to about30 minutes per animal with 2 guys, one cutting and one wrapping.

Ive done every one of the 30 or so Ive killed ,even when I lived in small apt. in NYC! Completly self taught. I find it more rewarding and even enjoyable. Get yourself two good knives, a saw and a 100$ grinder and you're good to go.

I will also post a separate to ask what equipment i need to buy.

Let's just say this is one of my lifelong dreams; to have my own walk in freezer. While my wife and I were watching the show "Dexter", they showed a walk in freezer in a scene. I told her that is what I have always wanted. She gave me a funny look until I told her why. lol

I used to do it years ago. When me or one of my friends got a deer we would all get together and butcher it. Now, I don't have a place to hang a deer, but I'm going to figure something out before next season.

The butcher I take my deer to charges $55 a deer.
