Dogs for tracking

I was just wondering you alls opinion on what breed of dog do you think would make the best tracking dog for wounded deer?
I have seen some good ones Beagles, Black Labs, and even a Brit. Span.
But what I want to know is just what breed is best in your opinion?

I use Beagles, they work well for me,and double as a running dog also.
the small,12" or 13" will also be a good house dog and then hunt with you.

Beagles are what I have used for the past 30 years. JMHO[:-]

I read a good article about the use of daushound-daschund-dashound, well you know weiner dogs. A man I know has one and from reports I have heard he will find a downed deer if he is in the woods.
