Default Contaminated Bedding Area

Hey guys I went to this secluded little pond and it was surrounded by tall weeds and grass. As I started to walk in I saw a lot of deer trails through it and a lot of spots where hey were laying down. I started to walk back out when two does got spooked and started to jump through the tall grass and into the woods. I am wondering if I contaminated the area and if they will come back to bed here or no.

After I backed out I went into the woods a little bit and sat down and just listened. I heared a lot of deer walking through the woods behind me it sounded like they were coming to the pond area. After about thirty minutes I backed out of the area and went back home. This is a State Land Area in Allegheny County NY.

Your ok. Jumping a deer out of its bed one time is not a bad thing. Heck, this is a tactic that I used 2 seasons ago to arrow a 140" P&Y buck. I walked his rubline all the way back to his bed. Jumped him at about 2pm and hung the stand as he ran off. 3 days later I sent one through him as he exited his bed 30 min before dark. Just don't continue to do it. I think you have found a hot spot though.

Yea I think so too. I will have to set up a stand there before season starts.

I wouldn't worry about it ... it's a part of scoutin'!
Get there, if you can, before daylight and set up and be ready for anything.

It sounds as if the deer are bedding nearby because of the water.
Get elavated if you can, if not, be careful of every movement you may make, and watch your wind.

Sounds like a great area to be huntin'!
Let us know how it goes!

Is that a pic of the pond area? Hey I know where that pond is, I think I'll head over there and give it a try too. Maybe I'll see you there. What time you think you'll arrive there maybe you can bring me some breakfast.
