I hunt on friends land, basically farmers that may own a variety of diverse land in my whole state. More than 2000 acres +

I've also been asked to hunt on my father in laws land near Amory, MS. He has 280 acres.

I hunt on 100 acres that I own, and lease 113 acres next to my property that is owned by a cousin of mine that lives in Colorado. Both are great pieces of hunting property. The properties are mixed pine-hardwood, more hardwood than pine. There are lots and lots of white oaks. There are two small creeks running through the properties. There is a power-pipeline running through both properties. It's a great hunting area with lots of wildlife.

RE: What type of land do you hunt?

I hunt private, leased, and occasionally public (rarely).

I have a lease that I hunt with my dad and other family, it's a good piece of property that we've been able to take some great deer off of over the last 5 seasons. I also hunt some private land that one of my best friends owns. I enjoy hunting with him and we've been hunting together for the last 10 years. It's some great property and I've taken a couple of decent bucks there over the years. Where I live in Oklahoma, there are large tracts of public hunting land and WMA's. I grew up hunting public land (river bottoms and flood plain land). There are alot of great areas to hunt, but they really get pressured, especially during rifle and muzzleloader season. It's tough to see mature bucks but they are there if you know where to look.

Out put "out my back door", but I don't mean literally. I hunt my own farm after I walk out the back door and out to the woods/field. I do hunt family land and some neighbor's land too.

for everything else, ex:shotgun season, other bow hunting trips, etc i hunt my grampas farm about 80 miles away

RE: What type of land do you hunt?

I hunt a WMA now that I have moved to MD and don't have my parents property in VA to hunt on anymore. I don't know anyone else that has any private land that I can hunt. I have stopped by a farm that I drive by everyday and always see tons of deer, but no one is ever there. I left a note for them so I am hoping to hear something. It is killing my to see all those deer and not be able to do anything about it. I usually see anywhere from 15-30 deer in the fields and have seen one huge buck. Cross your fingers.

i hunt public in Oklahoma and when i get to hunt in Montana i hunt on one of our 2 ranches. we have about 15000 acers on one place that is in the mountianous area and another that is about 13000 acers that is more flat and wide open. both have lots of game and are closed to other hunters due to people "mistaking" cows as deer.

RE: What type of land do you hunt?

I hunt a little bit of private land. Mostly my hunting is on public land,I like the challenge of hunting on public land and I like the fact the fences are really far apart and I don't have too worry about accidentally shooting a deer on the neighbors side of the fence. I have never been kicked off of the public land.

RE: What type of land do you hunt?

I have access to half a dozen spots, all private land. One farm is 300 acres, the other is family owned, and is 100 acres of Bush (mostly Oaks)

All private, mainly because I know I won't run into other hunters, there is less hunting pressure, and well Ontario is mainly all Private land, not alot of public, and what public land there is, there are hunters every 500yrds.

Family land and 2 very large timberland leases. I feel so blessed to be able to haveso much land to hunt, which is one of the main reasons why i came back to my rural hometown.

RE: What type of land do you hunt?

I hunt on a lease, it's not from a club, though, it's just several friends who get together and put together enough money for a lease and food plots.

That's where I hunt mostly, because I don't like low-quality deer on most WMA's and the number of hunters, at least, WE don't, plus, my uncle is one of the people who started it with his friend, but we still pay. Cheap, though.

However, I love to hunt family land the most, in the West, get to hunt Mule Deer and Whitetails in the cottonwoods, love it! Just saw I'm not able to select two options.

I mostly hunt my own land these days, though I won't turn down an invite to someone else's, and I occasionally hunt public land as well.

RE: What type of land do you hunt?

I hunt in hunting clubs with leased land in both GA and IL. It guarantees access and limits access at the same time. In the case of Illinois, it is also much cheaper than paying an outfitter and I can hunt my own way.

grs00 10-08-2008 11:39 AM

RE: What type of land do you hunt?

Small private land that belongs to my uncle. That is the only place that I have to hunt.

RE: What type of land do you hunt?

Ihunt private property, mostly just because I have it to myself for the most part. If i didnt have private property to hunt I would hunt public/wildlife managment areas or an outfitter.
