The only true way to tell the difference is to chew on one. Try it and report back here as to whether your acually able to blow a bubble with it. I' ll then tell you which type you have.

Moose droppings are much bigger and have a lighter color to them than deer droppings they are about the size of a small walnut.
Look for large heart shaped tracks near them, those are moose.

doesnt sound like a moose. moose can average from 600 lbs to 1500 lbs. i am pretty sure moose have bigger turds than anything.

Lots of moose running around here in NH and you can tell the difference without chewing them. I tried what nub said and it doesn' t work, he only messing with ya.....you can only blow bubbles with bear crap

The moose crap around here is about the size of the robins egg (somethimes slightly smaller) and are brown not blue, now that' s for an adult moose. Look around at the trees for the bark being stripped off. They do it with their teeth so you should see grooves about 1/4" wide. Their rubs are just like a buck rub but they start about 5' up the tree and as high as 7' up. I' m 6' tall and last year couldn' t touch the top of a moose rub standing flat on my feet.

Too many berry seeds in bear scat to blow a good bubble.

If the moose are feeding on aquatic plants, the nuggets can resemble dark greasy looking deer droppings. Only much larger. The Robin egg comparison holds true for all the treats(bubble[:-]) in the pile. If it is winter and the Moose are browsing sticks and twigs, they will be browner in tint. Turds that appear dry and light brown are older.
