7.62X54 Russian Mosin-Nagant 1938. I am letting my sister shoot the remy 700 in .30-06 this season, so I am gonna try my luck with this. I can hit great with it, so hopefully I at least get a nice doe. It will make for a great hunt. I will be shooting 203 grain soft points out of it.

RE: Whatcha shootin this year

I also may use a .30-06,.30-30, .270, .243 or 12.ga slug. But the nagant is my go to for this year

Jacob,

Sweet gun. I love all those old military guns. I have a Sweedish Mauser I wouldn't mind trying sometime if I ever get to a rifle state.

Ruger m77 mkII in 270WSM, that is of course if I get my stock back in time, the Boyds JRS that I put on during the winter cracked at the tang and I'm waiting for Cabelas to send my replacement. Otherwise I would imagine I'd have to go with the old stand by, my FN mauser in 30-06.

Thanks! I do to, I have a couple others, but this one I am the most accurate with. I Hunt PA rifle, I really can't wait. I don't care if it's a doe or huge buck, I'm just excited to get a deer with a piece of history like that!

Currently bow season is in here in NC...I shoot a Mountaineer Ranger set at 65 pounds, Easton aluminum XX-78 2413, 32 inch arrows with 125 Thunderheads on the ene of them, shooting fingers...

During our muzzleloading season, I use a .54 caliber flintlock that I made in the 80s, shooting .530 patched round balls that I mold, they weigh about 220 grs and I use 80grs of Goex FFF...

During our rifle season, I shoot a 1980 Ruger M-77 in .243, with a 3x9x40 VX-II Leupold and usually 100gr CoreLokts...

Here's a pic of my flintlock...
