With my Flambeau Doe decoy I can use it as a standing Doe,bedded Doe,use the Antler Kit and make it into a Buck.Depending on the amount of Deer you have on your property I would start out with a Doe Decoy and closer to the Rut change it over to a Buck Decoy,if it has too big of an antler it make scare the younger Bucks away...but if you going for Mr. Big Boy it won't hurt!

You have to be careful with a buck decoy as because if you dont set up correctly, you wont get a shot at the deer and he will more than likely come in only once and that is to fight, once the decoy is down, he will retreat and more than likely out of bow range. If you are hunting with a gun, a differnt story but still have to set up correctly so that you are presented with a good shot. I would go with a doe decoy near the rut and apply some estrous scent on the tail section.

One word of advice......Take it down at the end of the day/done hunting. I own my own hunting property so figured I'd just leave it out one night after hunting and I was tired. Well I got into my stand way before daylight and couldn't see my decoy. I waited til daylight to see if I could see it. Well, during the night a buck had come in and destroyed it!!! Friggin pieces all over the place and tore up with deer tracks. Funny and sad at the same time. $100 down the drain but funny that I didn't hear him or see him since it wasn't too far from my house.

I purchased a Double Bull blind, and the video that comes with it says does will shy away from doe decoys, but bucks will not. Also, they say if your using only one decoy use a buck decoy. They also tell that a buck will come to a buck decoy from the front (and may circle downwind), and a doe decoy from behind. I just thought a bit of information from these folks might help since they use their ground blinds all the time. They (according to their video) are very successful with same day sets. Good hunting ... ShotARye !
