Best Loads for TC Omega

Just picked up a new Omega last night and want to get to the range. Anyone have some suggestions on Loads & Bullet Combos. I have had a CVA for 10 years and shoot 100g Pyro and 225 Rem hollow Point. I was thinking of shooting 2-250g Shockwaves with 100g 777 pellet loads to start. Just curious what other are having good success with

It took me a while to figure out that Power Belts load much easyer and shoot pretty good. I have a 45 cal.

I have been using 100 g pyrodex pellets but switched to the 777 last year. I found that the 777 burns fairly well but if you press the bullet down too hard it shatters faily easy. I want to try the american pioneer but really haven't seen any reviews on it yet (the sticks). As far as bullets go I was using the T/C shockwave 250 and have taken deer out to 125yrds with 100 g pyrodex. The powerbelts are a lot easier to load (especially the second load) but I didn't get the accuracy out of the second shot that I liked but it could be just my gun. The first shot was dead on though. This year I am switching back to the Shockwave. Good luck

I have a SS laminated stock model. I've been shooting 80 grains of T7 under a 260 grain Nosler Partition HG. I've never recovered a bullet because I've always gotten complete pass through. I'vehit deer at 125 yards broadside and head on at 25 yards, the NP HG always flys right through them. Massive expansion on impact, I know this because the entry wounds are much, much larger than the exit wound. It's like the NP explodes on impact and then just drives right on through. The NP HG's are a little pricey, but I picked a box of 50 up for about 1/2 off when I saw them on a sale table. Got a box of 300 grainers at the same time, same price. I'll shoot those when the 260's are used up.

I tried the Powerbelts, but they aren't near as accurate as the NP HG's. Much easier to load, but I've never actually shot a deer with one. If I didn't shoot NP HG's I'd probably try Hornady XTP's, I've had good results with those bullets out of .44 handgun. Hammered a big buck at 100 yards, the 240 grain XTP went through both shoulders and ended up under the hide on the far side. Of course, that was one of my hot handloads.

Bugs.

295 Gr Hollow Point Powerbelts with 2 50gr pyrodex pellets. That's what I use. Loads quick and very accurate.
