First deer of the year!
 

Well, on the last day of our early doe season, I took this doe. About 35 yds, took out the top of the heart and lungs, she still ran about 75 yds.

Yep, 5 day hunt (private land only) to reduced deer population in the southern lower peninsula. Youth hunt isthis weekend, then bow season starts the 1st.

Looks like a Rem 870

I have one with a seethrough scope mount and camo stocks. It is a tack driver as far as shotguns go.

It is a nice doe, I can't say wheather I would have let her pass or not though.I live in Iowa, and I would have been "razzed" for that doe. It is a nice doe none the less.
