where are they when they aren't in the rut??
 
so i was wondering do big buck's stay in the same general area when not in the rut??? and if they do move around can anyone give a estimate of how far they go when not in the rut?? and in the rut how far do they go?? i live on a 360 acre farm.

Outside the rut they tend to cling to their core area, which can cover several square miles depending on food and cover, but usually the thick nasty stuff. During the rut all bets are off.

Last year we had a 170-180 inch buck on camera for a week but then come December/Jan. he left and someone seen him cross a highway 3 miles away... Never seen him on camera till about 3 weeks ago...
