Me and my friends have good luck sitting in stands, last year i took out 1 buck and my friend took down 4 deer total...so sitting and waiting is a good tactic

Come down toCrawford Co.(near Louisville), there's a stretch of the Hoosier Natl. Forest on SR 37 south a few miles off the interstate that offers good to excellent deer and turkey hunting. It's $5 per dayto get in, they have camping facilities, and the fishing is great too. Bring a deer cart, the terrain is fairly rugged, and a GPS is highly reccomended too. A boat can get you across the lakes where few people go, they have deer back there that rarely see humans. Celina is my favorite of the group, if you park at the boat ramp you can just walk past the trailer turnaround at the end of the parking lot and immediately begin seeing trails and tons of tracks and other sign. The hollows between ridge fingers are like deer roads, most have a game trail going down them. The last week of October to the second week of November are the best times to go for rutting activity, the deer will usually be in wooded flats on the tops of the ridges. Here's all you'll need to find it: http://www.fs.fed.us/r9/hoosier/recreation/indian_celina.htm

Sitting is a stand is probably your best bet. I have never had much luck rattling, but I have gotten response out of grunting and growling. Good luck.

How much property, hunting pressure and the food sources abundant in your area are some factors to consider but the best advice like others have already mentioned is to just sit and wait and somthing will eventually come your way.
