help on a score

Got this guy on camera- trying to decide whether or not to shoot him this year. From his body, I don't think he is much older than 3 1/2-4 1/2 years old. I don't know if I could let him walk though. Need some other opinions on what he might score to help make up my mind!

Looks like a main frame 10, I'm going to guess mid 160's or so. Hard to tell. Little bit of sway back, got a belly, shoulders/neck are filling out, maybe 4 1/2. Get a $100 Moultrie and put a $19 chip in it, better pictures and they hold about 1400 pictures. I guarantee if I had a shot at him I would take it, you may never see him again.

That's exactly the setup;) The original picture was kind of dark- this one is enhanced to brighten it up. Here's the original...

Guessing high 150's, but its hard to tell. He looks like a mature deer to me, i wouldn't let him walk.

These guys are better than me at scoring. Both pictures are pretty bad for getting even a rough score IMO. However, both pictures are good enough for me to know that I would have no problem at all pulling the trigger on him. Rack appears to having everything I am looking for and he appears to fairly mature deer. Good luck, I hope you are able to get on him.

Def. not in the 160 class. Doubtful 150. High 140's, and a shooter, unless there is an abundance of that class buck where you hunt. If so, pm me the area you hunt, and the cost of a non- residence license.

shooter w/o a doubt nice deer

He looks like a nice 8 point to me. I would say high 130's or maybe 140's, that is if he is an 8 point. He doesn't look that old to me. He's got more growing to do, but he wouldn't grow anymore if he walked by me.

he'll push 150.

man that is giant whether it is a 3 1/2 or not I think if you see him there won't be much of a thought on whether to let him walk or not

Ummmmm.....Lets see, he has the spread, the G2's and 3's are about the same, and his brow tines are long, he may not be 160 but he is DEFINATELY a mid150 class deer.

His back and belly sways just a little.
So I would say hes a mature buck.
To shoot him or not, would be if he walks out and gives you a shot.
If he does I would take hem.
Because if another hunter has half a chance, you can kiss him GoodBye.

I'd say he would score no less than 150. That's a great buck in my opinion I have not killed one like that yet so I would definitely take him.

i would have to say low 160's high 150's

Though the pic isn't the greatest, doesn't appear to have any times over 9 1/2 inches, main beams don't appear to be longer than 23", spread looks to be maybe 18 1/2, doesn't appear to have circ.s over 5-5 1/2. Looks like very little deduction. If he has 2 matching tines somewhere that pic. doesn't display, I would agree with mid 150. In the end, it's just a guess. Put him down, all guessing ends:D

In the end, I can only compare to what I look at every day.[:@]

I think that bucks brows may push him over the 150 inch mark.

Can't tell how many points. I would say 140's.

RE: help on a score

I would say in the 145-155 range with difference being if he is an 8 or 10 Pt but just a guess. Others are probably a lot better at scoring than I am.

No mater.....If he came by me I'd put him down in a heartbeat and call it good.

140's, theres always going to be a deduction, never seen a perfect symmetrical rack. Shooter for sure. Nice Buck!

I'm not seeeing the 10 pointer, i do however think you are looking at a mid 160 8 pointer. If he has 10 points, he's in the 170's,he has the width, width will go 19 to 20" on that buck, very nice brows, i would guess them to be 9+, (buck ears in my area run 7 ") and that buck has great mass. My nephew has a 170 class 8 pointer on the wall and this buck isnt much smaller. Shoot now, measure later!

to bad he wont give you a side profile view, lol

To give you something to compare, this buck killed by my daughter went 164".

RE: help on a score

MUCH longer tines, better mass, and longer main beams. SHOULD score better than buck at begining of this threa. BOTH are great bucks!! Congrats to your daughter!!

id say high 140s dont think his tines are quite long enough to score much higher

Hard to tell from that pic, but I'd say around 155-160.

RE: help on a score

I see a main frame9 point lacking the right G4....that puts him about 142-145...You're right though, he's most likely 3.5 possibly 4.5. Taking him depends not only on your management plan, but the size of the property you hunt on and the neighbors management policies. He's not passing by me though thats for sure.
