Hunting regulations in Scotland

I've had a few people PMing me asking what the regulations are like here as they would like to come and hunt here. Incase anyone is interested here is the required information.

[ul][*]Visitors from the United States can not apply for a visitor's permit. A person resident in the United Kingdom (the "sponsor") must apply for the permit on behalf of the visitor. The sponsor can be a private individual, a club, shooting organisation, a country estate, or a shooting syndicate.[*]A period of approximately six to eight weeks is required for the application process to be completed.[*]When a permit is granted, the sponsor forwards it to the visitor, who must present it to Customs when the visitor arrives in Great Britain. [/ul]

Personally I don't think its that bad, i've seen worse regarding firearms.

And the seasons

RE: Hunting regulations in Scotland

I have alot of contacts here in my state for hunting the majority of those game animals/birds. I could take a few people hunting for free as i have the right to hunt on the land and cost would just be your catridges which are just $10 per box.

I do know that stag hunting can be quite costly though. I only know one person up North that can arrange hunts. Maybe if i talk nice to him he could give me a deal for whoever is interested. As for Roe deer theres pleanty roaming around where i hunt wood pigeon.

Hope this helps.

RE: Hunting regulations in Scotland

Now being that I was born in Scotland and have Joint Citizenship I should be able to apply for one with no problems correct, being that I am considered a resident of Scotland.

Yeah my boyfriends dads in Mississippi, he has 280 acres of land. :D

Wis bow huntr, do you have a British passport? If so you don't need no permit at all, you can hunt freely and there is no bag limits here anyway.
