Maybe the same area residents would be equally grateful if the same person (AHA!) sued the dog owner! If the area residents care that much and are being bothered that much...the law provides a remedy.
And perhaps years later, when the dogs have increased to 50 or more, there may be results.I know that I myself as a homeowner would prefer much quicker results, even if they were not gained buy way of the courts.

Go tell the owners if they come back on your place you will shoot the dogs , and if they come back you shoot them ! I did that here on my place and so far I have killed 4 dogs and after I shot them I called the sheriffs office and made a report ! It is rediculas when a dog has more rights than a land owner. And MrA can call who ever he wants and can Quote what I have said ! Thats how I deal with the dog probblems around here , I pay my Morgage & taxes and I will shoot any dog that dosen't belong here!!!!!!!!

Indiana SmokePole. Are you telling me that you would shoot any animal that just happens to wander into your yard? I am friendly with all my neighbours and most have dogs and cats however i would not shoot them just because they may happen to be in my yard by mistake. I wouldn't shoot any animal unless it attacked me or was going to cause any type of danger to any other pets/people. Just shooting a dog just because it wanders into your yard (it doesn't knowthat itshouldn't be there) doesn't mean you can just shoot the poor thing, that is cruelty. I see this on TV shows, nasty people just shooting dogs without reporting them or because those idiots haven't fenced their property off.

I've read this entire thread and i admit there are alot of sickos here. That shouldn't have the right to even own a firearm for wreckless behavior. But i wouldn't just shoot a defenseless animal because it happened to stumble into my yard.

However if you have a bad/ arrogant neighbour like the person decribed in this thread and the authorities have FAILED to do nothing then by all means if it leaves you no choice SHOOT it, especially if its infested with all sorts. It could be carrying anything. But there is always a solution to a problem.

Sorry guys but i love animals and its not the animals its the OWNERS.

It is the people that own the dogs that should have their property fenced. It's your animal, and your responsibility. We have what they call range law where I live.If your cow, horse,or any other domestic animal is allowed to run loose,or escapes from a fence and gets hit by a vehicle, you are responsible for all damages and injuries sustained the the vehicle and it's occupants.

I have nothing wrong with that, i've had pets and i've always kept my property fenced off and looked after my animals. I just have no respect for people that are cruel or neglect their animals.

RG I did not say that I shoot dogs just to be shooting them, I own a farm and have livestock all over it , my Chickens are free range chickens and I have lost over 200 to the dogs around here I have seen them killing my animals and that cost to much $$$$ and if I take them to court that is going to cost me more $$$ and I will never get the money for the animals even if the judge rules for me SO I have to take them back to court and that cost more money so I find a $1 bullet is cheaper and solves the probblem instantly ,So I went and talked to the Nei. and explained to them what was going on and gave them a choise to ether keep there dogs put up or they would die. The last one that I shot was after my cows and had ripped a large gash in one of my hefers back leg, I shot the dog and went and told the guy if he wanted to come and get his dog he could . He was not happy about it but understood that once a animal starts things like this that they will not stop. so they have to be put up or put down!

I'm not trying to start any thing here but if you would like to send me about $300,00 dollors for chainlenk fence I would be more than happy to take my barbed wire fence down and put up a containment fence around my farm.

Sorry ISP it was just the way your post sounded.

you will shoot the dogs , and if they come back you shoot them
Just sounded really irrational thats all

I will shoot any dog that dosen't belong here!!!!!!!!
When you say that it sounds like any dog. I admit i get 1 dog coming into my yard but i dont bother because i know the owner and the dog is well looked after.

I just have no respect for people that are cruel or neglect their animals.
Does that include the people that let 20+ dogs run free on other peoples property?
