"Buck of a Lifetime"
Let me have your take on this. If money can buy a "buck of a lifetime", is it still actually a "buck of a lifetime"??? Think about it. Ifyou can pay an outfitter X amount of money to kill a monster, and then pay again and again to go back as many times as you want every year for the rest of your "lifetime", how can that still be defined as a "buck of a lifetime"??? Any average joe could end his life with however many "bucks of a lifetime" he wanted to, if he had the money. Maybe I just think too much, but it makes sense to me.

RE: "Buck of a Lifetime"
I have to agree that paying to shoot a monster would not mean the buck of a lifetime to me. Especially if the hunt is guaranteed.
However, I believe this could be a trip of a lifetime. Regardless if you kill a monster or not, if this type of hunt is the only way to be with older family members or friends, get a youngster introduced to the sport or just spend quality time with the family... then it might be the trip of a lifetime. |
RE: "Buck of a Lifetime"
To me the buck of a lifetime will be by my own hand. Not paying someone to take me to it and show me which stand to set in. The only money I'll fork out is for my equipment, tags, and gas to get there.

RE: "Buck of a Lifetime"
Someone I work with told me last year he was going elk hunting. He brought his rifle out west, hit a high fence operation, picked out the bull he wanted, paid his $$ and squeezed the trigger. Was that hunting? Not in my opinion. Maybe it was to him. Catching fish in a barrel doesn't much appeal to me either. Unless it was a fair chase hunt, to me it just doesnt count as a buck of a lifetime.

IN MY OPINION NO WAY IS A BUCK OF A LIFETIME GOING TO COME FROM A OUTFITTER FULLY GUIDED HUNT. A TRUE TROPHY IS EARNED THROUGH KNOWLEDGE AND HARD WORK
