The last couple days of season he would turn into a shooter. Then again I always wonder if I let a buck like that walk will I be rewarded next season by getting a crack at him when he is even larger.

Ok not to beat a dead horse but ....my 2 cents...
Nice buck for sure. But he looks bigger in velvet thant hard antlers. With a gun I'd be tempted but probably would let him pass. With a bow I'd lean the other way. If I had 300 acres I'd stick to what you all are doing too. The only way to get deer 5.5 years old is not to shoot them when they are 3.5. He'll get better anyway. And harder to hunt.
Thats my opinion. If I were on public ground or alowed more than one buck here then things may be different. But if you only get one buck like here...
Now noone bring this back up when I shoot a dink this year in gun season ....LOL

Thats a young buck . I agree , Id let him go (if you get the chance), if he makes it he will be immpresive next year. Once the velvet is off I think he will end up high 130s for sure. If your on 300 acres , you probably have more mature deer to hunt.
