Find the Black Powder forum on this site and ask that same question. There is a guy known as Frontier Gander who is the Powder Belt Guru. He has done testing on them and knows his stuff.

Do a search there as well - you will find more then a little negative feedback.
Lots better choices at the same or much lower price.

i'm currently using the 295 gr. Powerbelt Aerotips in front of 150 grains (3 pellets) of pyrodex. at 100 yards i am cutting previous holes. have not shot game with them yet. last year i used the 245 gr. Powerbelt Aerotips to kill 2 bucks. they were accurate but did not hold together well upon impact, so this year i am experimenting with a heavier bullet.

Read into Frontier Ganders info on Power Belts and 150 gr charges. Too much powder and they do come apart.....not good. 80gr and that 295gr Powerbelt is all you should need. I started shooting Power Belts as soon as I got my first muzzleloader, just because a guy gave me about 20 of them.....maybe for a reason. Although they grouped fine I opted for the Barnes solid copper Expander MZ's, they don't fragment.

the problem i have is no access to a rifle range. therefore i can not experiment with different loads of powder and bullets. i only have the time to shoot my ML once or twice to sight in a year, this is why i use the pellets and powerbelts. i also hunt terrain that will allow up to 150 yards shots, so i try to accomplish an accurate load that will shoot as flat as possible...hence using 150 grains of pyrodex. accuracy is not my issue with the powerbelts, just fragmentation which i hope improves with the heavier grain bullet.

Not trying to come across as "a know it all" but I don't really think you need 150gr of pellets to be effective at 150 yards. It would be worth your while to contact Frontier Gander or the others in the blackpowder forms and discuss the Powerbelt/150gr pellets. Or, try a Barnes solid copper bullet with 150grains of powder. They don't come apart with a hot load and aren't anymore $$ than Power Belts. Just trying to be helpfull and I don't mean to try to Hi Jack this thread.
