the body looks like a 1.5 year old but in my area of northern MI bucks are usually spikes their first year, i've never seen a deer with this kind of rack so young. usually 2.5 year olds are still 6 points, just hardwood forests up here, no agriculture at all. hopefully the picture loads

Certainly too big a body for a yearling. Looks to be a healthy 2.5 year old. or perhaps a 3.5, no older than that. Wish you had more pictures of him to get a better idea.

I would say that's a healthy 2.5 yr old. I've hunted northern WI where there isn't near the ag fields of south central where I'm from, but he would look real nice next year....if the wolves don't get him.

2.5 would be my guess. notice the straight lined back and no swaggering belly either, he doesnt seemed to be developed yet, give him a couple of more years.

Looks like a 2.5 to me. Short tines and small diameter with a spread just at the ears. The deers body looks quite young without the definition that a 3.5 would have.

I've shot 1.5 year old bucks that size in northern MI, I'd guess 1.5 to 2.5 yrs old, but not any more than that......

i am still confident that it is a 1.5 year old because of the body size, he's the same size as all the smaller bucks in the area

Summer is a difficult time to age a buck. I would put him at 1.5 based on his scrawny neck but we are used to seeing deer and aging in the fall when they have a swollen neck due to the upcoming rut. Actually at this time of year he would only be 1.25 or so. I would lean toward 2.25 if he was around here.

He looks young because of the time of the year the picture was taken. Hewill probablylook much different in late October. If he is older than a yearling he will have a heavier looking body and a much thicker neck.

id say hes 1.5 muscle wise he just isnt filled out in the frontend. dont know much about michigan deer though but just my opinion. hard to tell in the summer though
