Advertising tools only, they mouth the same old tired advice over and over, only the ads change.

Jim Shockey and Eastmans are the only two I dvr and watch anymore. I recommend them both. Eastmans can be annoying sometimes "we invented fair chase public ground hunting" (tell that to the Mountain men that were here 200 years ago, and my great great great grandparents who hit Idaho territory in the 1880's), but all in all it is better than most other shows. Jim Shockey's is an awsome show, he does push his muzzleloader and SCI, but it is not over the top, and he is the real deal, and shows his mistakes along with the success. His moose hunt this week was awsome, stalked to 10 yards, huge bull in his Northwest Territory huntign units.

I believe that mostly all are "canned hunts." Every time the hosts hunt, they ALWAYS get a monster that most people would never see in their lives.

This post was on another forum ,i thoughtit was funny: The hunting shows and porno movies have alot in common 1) They both use whores 2) They both exploit what should be a personal experienceand degrade it 3)They both give a false veiw of the subject that they are showing 4)When you've seen one, you've seen them all. 5) They could all be titled "STUFF THAT NEVER HAPPENS TO ME!!" 6)They both depict something thatI would MUCH,MUCH,MUCH rather DO THEN WATCH!

Spend enough time in the bush and it will happen to you. Time in and hard work equals success (althoughsome of us are blessed with better locations than others). Hunting shows are for entertainment only although some do have some very informative sections. The problem is that opinions on products are always biased to the sponser so the consumer never gets the real goods on the product. Look how the Drury boys push scent lok. Watching some, as in now, a couple of weeks before our bow season starts, does get me pumped.

I lke to watch most of them .
I just dont care for the comments like . Wow I ,m tickled or I just smoked hiom etc .
Its o.k. to get very excited and I do Myself but some of the shows go into etremes as if they hunted the same buck all there life , but in reality they are hunting on a private and VERY Expensive Club or Outfitter who most likely knows where the Bucks go 24-7 .
Most shows are great to watch and informative at times .

TV is very expensive, thus tons of advertising. If you were paying 30k+ to sponsor a show, you would expect the same type of exposure. For the love of god I don't know why most have to be so cheesy when they do the plugs, but I guess when you have in many cases "junk" to advertise, it can be difficult.

That's why I chose to do DVD's, because I can control 100% of the content. In our past release, we don't have a single product plug in a 2 hour video. The only way companies like mine survive is due to support of hunters who buy videos. So, check it our if you haven't - and support those thatholdtruethe ethics you support.

They have some of the best ground to hunt, and they put A TON of time in, that you don't see on film, waiting for the buck. Sure some of them are canned, but i would say only 10 or so percent.

Also though, if you people hate them all, then why watch them? Isn't it pretty simple, that if they get you that mad, to stop doing it?

I'd love to see a good hunting show. But they're all so bad, that whenI do catch one once in a blue moon while channel surfing, I can't stand it for more than a few minutes and resume surfing or find something else to do. Some questions just begged to be asked about these shows. Is it a prerequisite forthe host to be some hick with a wad of chew in his mouth, barely able to speak the English language, and apparently in such poor shape thathe needs an ATV to get around? Must every show be a running infomercial and airwith the cheesy fashion of late night TV? Is super-duper leafy stink-lock camouflage really necessary when you're encapsulated in a blind? Since when is a gut shot considered a "good hit"? Exactly how is a using a scoped inline with saboted slugs considered a "primitive hunt"? Finally, I'm sorry to say, when the star of the show is ******ed toa plywood box by a guide, to post over a feeder set in a food plot encircled in tall fencing, that is shooting, not hunting, and does not belong on television.
