cherry trees
I just noticed a couple cherry trees on the land I hunt. Never knew they were there. Is this a fruit tree deer would go to like oak trees?

RE: cherry trees
not usually - but I've seen times when Turkeys will really relate to them and their fruit dropping.
Assume you are talking about Wild Black Cherry FH |
RE: cherry trees
Not if they don't have cherries on them at the time .

The only activity is often from wood thieves trying to score some primo woodworking material My cherry tree has fruit on it in June, not what I would call deer season. |
RE: cherry trees
I shot a 10 pt. in ohio on a rainy day.I watched him lick the water running down a cherry tree ,around and around the tree he went, this lasted a long time befor he moved to a scape. He worked it over befor entering my shooting lane.Maybe the tree sweetened the water or something .

RE: cherry trees
Hard to say. You would have at least thought the deer would use a sugar maple. Even deer like the real stuff. :D

RE: cherry trees
These trees are real close to a doe bedding area. Thats what made me wonder if it was something they liked. Thanks for all your responses.
