IL deer NR firearm confusion
 

1-I have a number of questions that I could not find answers to on IL DNR website:

2-There used to be a list of how many tags there were by county, does any one have this?

3-I am interested in finding the odds for a NR firearm buck tag for Fayette and Adams counties, does any one know this?

4-This is not thru an outfitter.

5-Can someone explain the different lotteries?

6-Idealy we would like to hunt opening weekend 1st shotgun?

7-Can this be drawn in the 2nd lottery?

8-Did I miss the 1st lottery or is this just for Residents?

9-The last option is that we can and do hunt w/ ML's, is this an easier tag to draw and can you hunt 2nd shotgun w/ a muzzy tag?

2nd lottery deadline - August 14: First time applicants, Non-Residents & rejected applicants
Random daily drawings - Sept 15 - Nov 7: multiple permits

1st lotto is for residents only.

You can not use a ML tag for gun season, it's a whole seperate season.

Actually, the muzzleloader only season is the second 4 days of the firearm season and the following Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Muzzleloader only will be easier to get than firearm, but it will cut you out of the first 3 days of the split season. Pick your poison.

Your wrong about ML season being the 2nd season of GUN season. Its the 3 days after the 2nd gun season. Dec 12,13, and 14th

Scrolldown and read carefully the season dates for "muzzleloader only" ;)

you MAY use a ML DURING 2nd season, but it's NOT ML only. So in a sense...were both right and wrong

Technichally, you're right about muzzleloader only season. More than anything, i just wanted to make sure people realized their muzzleloader only permits were good for both time periods. I think it's safe to say everyone is a "winner" here! :D
