I just got in about an hour ago and had a nice surprise about half mile from my house. Passed by 3-4 does and a six pointer eating on the side of the road. Fortunately they moved up hill away from traffic. I was surprised this Buck still had his rack this long, any feed back on this. I' ve shot Bucks in late Jan. that had already dropped.

HNI Visitor- I got you beat for finding a shed this year or should I say last year.
I was out scouting for the early Ml season in Md. the second week in Oct. when I found a 3 pt. side.I can' t believe it was dropped so early in year, had to be from previous spring. Not a chew on shed and no fading what so ever.
Later jan. 15th I did find two fresh sheds that were from this years shedding,my first for this year.No way they were missed and layed all year.
I' ve shot two different buck the week following Thanksgiving in different years that had antlers pop off in my hand when I went to drag deer out.And one year two weeks later shot a buck that had already dropped both sides.
I believe deer have always dropped early, just the majority drop between the end of jan. and late March.....

HNI Visitor-I got you beat for finding shed early in year or late from last year. While out scouting the second week in Oct. for early ML season in MD.
I came across a 3 pt. side that had no chews or fading and looked like it was recently dropped.I can' t believe it was dropped that early and had to be from previous spring.
I' ve shot two different buck in different years that when I grabbed an antler to drag deer out fell off in my hands. Both were shot the week following Thanksgiving, then I shot another buck in different year again, but was shot 2 weeks later in year that turned out to be a buck that had already dropped both sides.
Buck have always dropped early, but I believe the majority drop between the end of jan. and late March.
This year was earliest I ever found a fresh shed for year and that was jan 15th.
I found two fresh sheds that same day
