RE: .270 Win. VS. 7mm. Rem. Mag...Would I see a difference on game?
sounds like you could be doing alot of shooting (which is always a good thing!)so as jag said if for one reason go for the .270 for ammo price my 7mm ammo gets expensive quick.

RE: .270 Win. VS. 7mm. Rem. Mag...Would I see a difference on game?
Thanks for the input folks!
To reply to one of the previous post, I've always wanted a .280, but finding one in a left handed stainless/synthetic model is pretty hard unless I have it custom built. I guessI could always get a .270 or 06' and have it rebarreled one day to a .280.....hmmmm..... Any other opinions would be greatly appreciated. |
RE: .270 Win. VS. 7mm. Rem. Mag...Would I see a difference on game?
I'd go .280. although there is nothing wrong with 270. I like the older stuff my self........ 6.5x55mm, 7x 57, 257 roberts and so on

The dead deer or hog won't know the difference, and I doubt you would.

I have a 270 and a 7mm saum. It's pretty much the same as a 7mmr. On deer at leasts I have'nt seen any appreciable difference on deer between it and my 270. Plus the 270 is cheaper to shoot.

I've been shooting the 7mm mag. since 1977. For hogs or bear I'd justswitch from 140gr. to 175gr.
