As long as Im in the woods Im happy. I'd have to say gun for me. It's something about the anticipation and all the activity in the woods. Maybe's its hearing distant shots, talking the guys at other hunting camps after opening day and seeing whats hanging from the deer pole andthe stuff like that. It seems like the night before gun season, you can almost feel the excitement in the air.
I agree with you on opening weekend of rifle season. I like sitting on the stand and hearing distant shots and wondering what eachhunter just shot or shot at. Sometimes I laugh. Like when I hear a distant boom, boom, pause, boom, pause, boom. I can just see this guy cursing on each miss and the deer probably just standing there looking at him wondering what the hell that noise is. There is just something about opening day of rifle season that is more special to me than opening day of bow season. I do love bow hunting, just not as much as gun hunting.

I like both, but what I like about bow hunting is the up-close and personal experience that the bow brings.

I love both but i prefer bow hunting because of the challenges ... having to get within 35-40 yards, having to wait for a really good shot placement angle, the requirement for a really well placed shot ... and I am convinced that the deer do not "feel" as pressured because there are so many more"passes" that in gun hunting and obviously a lot less "banging" going on in the area.

I voted Gun hunting because I love the commaradarieI have withmy family in gun season.I love bow hunting as well, but spending time with family tips the scales toward gun hunting.

I have always been a bow hunter before a gun hunter!!!!!Why?????? I guess it is because I get to interact with the animals on a closer level......I like the up close challenge that bowhunting provides......I find a harvest with a bow to give me more satisfaction (this just applies to me personally). I will still gun hunt from time to time with my daughter and wife, Ijust like the bowhunting better......

I like them both but preffer bow hunting because its more challenging and because I can hunt from Sept 15th to Jan 31st. With black powder and shotgun we only have about a months total.
