If you could only buy one brand of shotgun ammo for everything, what would itbe??

I'm pretty partial to Winchester ammo because I tend to have the best luck with it. However I would hate to be limited to one type of ammo, you really need to try a bunch of it to see what works best. Especially if you are talking slugs, slug guns can be pretty picky.

Did this with a pair of Remington slugs from about 20 yards, the one on the left is a regular remington slug, the one of the right is a Buckhammer, both from a 20 ga. The buckhammer was the first time I've had the impact from a 20ga slug knock over a deer. I've made 'em fall, but never straight knocked 'em over.

I agree with Paul, the most important thing is matching the ammo to your gun and knowing your gun as well as being accurate with it. It's not the Indian, it's the arrow.

I hav the best luck with winchester also, thats why they got my vote, but slug guns are definitly picky. I use the partition golds and they shoot like a rifle. I figured this out by shooting both the rem corelokt slugs and the golds. My 870 likes the winchesters better it seems. I havnt tried the fed barnes expanders, wats there stats??

Lightfield sabots - I swear by them, they are the most accurate shotgun slug out there.

overall for me Winchesters.....My Remington 12ga. likes the Partion Golds, my Mossberg likes the Supreme HV #5 Turkey loads, but my H&R Ultra loves the Hornady SST

I thought about tryin the lightfields in 3in. But after tryin new slugs last year and havn no luck im a little bit cautious. especially when i kno how the partition goldsperform. With them I feel comfortable with a 185 yard shot. if the deer was big enough 200 plus is no stretch.
