Wow. Deer in your yard ona regular basis. I need to take lessons from these guys on food plot management. If you had this "problem", would you still hunt? Why can't we all be so lucky.:D

Man,Ithought I had it good just getting to watch them from a safe distance on my place. That's pretty cool..
I watch deer in my yard and take pic'sof them but I still hunt them, just noton my property. However i have a 8 point I have been watching for the last 3 years (he's the buckunder myname). He might meet the gold tip if he is still around in two years.

hunt them anyway, just do it away from your house, so they don't get spooked and quit coming into your yard. if yer like me, hunting is in yer blood, so you couldn't not hunt them. If i had a lone deer come into the yard, i would probably shoot it out the window, just to say i shot a deer from my house.

I have shot coyotes and bobcats from my porch ,they are predators and weraise stock ,but I have to pass on game animals . I know some people that have deer in thier yard like that .

Notice how skinny the deer are?Way to many for the food in the area it looks to me.I shoot 4-8 does off 80 acre farm I have and all are fat,maybe because I have about 8-10 acres of food plots.People like this think we hunters are the mean people but they can not see the big picture.I'm sure by the looks of these deer if they had a hard winter or dry summer some of the deer would die a very slow death because of over population.If I had a choice of dying I would much better it be a well place 30-06 than to starve to death.

I'd absolutely still hunt, just probably not right by there, so I could at least convince myself that it wasn't one of "my deer" that I killed. However by the time I have a house, I'll have a hunting dog and I doubt those deer would stick around so much if there was a dog in the area.

The real difficulty would be if you had kids and you brought home a deer.


I had a squirrel eating out of my birdfeeder last fall. Since I live in Des Moines in an apartment I had to be a bit covert, but he met a pellet from my pellet gun between the eyes and tasted great!;)


I agree with others who have said the deer look too skinny, seems to me there's not enough food for the amount of deer in the area and the population needs to be trimmed.

My favorite way to watch deer is over the three dots of a fiber optic sight, hell yes I'd still hunt them.

I'd hunt but not on my property like that. I'll admit i'd get attached as well, would be pretty cool to be outside sippin on some iced tea and have 9 deer come up to say hi.

P.S. i also noticed how skinny they were. Thats the first thing i though was man these are some tiny deer.

we have deer in our backyard almost everynight but i still hunt, I hunt about 300 yards away from the house but i cant shoot a doe or a fawn cuz there just my lil babies lol.. I will shoot a buck i've been watching from the house though!

Hunt for me is a broad term, I can go without haresting, but being in the woods and trying to figure out the monster is something I shall never be able to give up again. Honestly, I don't think I'd be too keen on the idea of that many deer getting friendly with humans. They may spook for some humans, but it only takes one false ID on the deer's part and some just cheated a worthy hunt.
