I have seen bucks with antlers as late as the end of april... not as uncommon as people think.

ORIGINAL: Schultzy ORIGINAL: cowboy4513 I have seen bucks with antlers as late as the end of april... not as uncommon as people think. Last week I saw two nice 8 pointers and a smaller half rack on my farm. Last night I saw a small 6 point with both sides at my sister's house in suburbia. Antler loss has quite a range over several months. I saw my first half rack on my trail cam in late December. Found a couple sheds in early February. Found another shed this past Friday. If it ever quits snowing, I just might be able to get out for some more shed hunting. :D |
RE: interesting question for you.......?
The less the stress the longer they carry headgear.Stress can be related to enviroment (harsh winter), food, cover, pressure, doe to buck ratio or just like humans individualized. Like said not that unusal to find bucks shedding early or later.
