Score guessing thread responses?

Why when someone puts up a "guess the score" thread, do people answer with fractions? 140 3/8s, 146 7/8s. Is this to be clever or cute? You're guessing from a picture so you're not going to be accurate within the inch or probably even 5 inches. Why not say 140 or 145. An annoying pet peeve of mine. :D

When I post on a guess the score, it's not a guess from me. I take a ruler and measure know distances, and compare them with the size of the deer antlers. It's through this comparitive analysis that I can get consitantly within 1/16 of an inch to the actual score of the deers rack.

they asked for a guess on the score, so i give them my best guess, if they say round to the nearest inch i wouldent out the 3/8ths in

What do you do in the field??:D

I hate to but call a big heaping shovel on your ability to guess a score so closely with any consistency. 1/16th " really?? I admit to being born at night but it wasn't last night;)!

You can guess score, to within 1/16", from an internet picture?

Official B&C measurers can be off by more when they have the antlers and a tape in their hands. You're good :D

Well, I gotta say, and I don't like to brag, but the truth will out. Not only can I judge an internet buck within 1/16" like that other feller, but I can tell you exactly how many ticks and fleas he's got on him, how many does he bred in the past year, whether his litter-mate was a buck or doe, and also whether he's a little constipated! I'd explain how, but that would just be all boring and stuff.
