Crazy Monday Night
 

Well this monday was one of the greatest ive had in a long time. Driving down the road at 8:00 about 2 minutes from my house, I seen a dead deer in the headlights. The person in front me hit this tiny doe...well me being the biggest redneck hick in kentucky automatically takes it as an opportunity for a free deer cape!!!!! Since I am an aspiring taxidermist:)

I speed home...get my dad and we make the trip back down the road. We get out, drag this doe to the back of my truck and load her up.... I have this huge smile on my face the entire time...I just cant believe I am actually doing this...We get her home...hang her and I skin her out. Managed to save the backstraps and the front shoulders as well as a nice cape for a small form i have.

This was definitely the best MONDAY night ever!!

Aww thanks everyone. I will definitely post some pictures on here of her when Im done. I already mounted my first bowkill this year....my second deer mount and I taught myself! What do ya think?

Great job young lady. Keep up the good work and practice, practice, practice. I believe females would make great Taxidermists as they tend to be more detail oriented and put emotion in their tasks. CONGRATS! Please keep us updated on your progress.

I am hopefully going to be opening my own shop soon. I want to try and be more affordable than everyone else just so everyone can have an opportunity to have their trophy mounted and not have to pay out the butt for it. Might not be raking in the money like the others, but the satisfaction of making someone happy is WAY better in my opinion.

I've said it before. You impress me. Every girl I know just about would be horrified to have to pic up a dead deer. Much less wanting to mount one.

I have my doe from last season in the freezer. I'm thinking of doing th mount for her myself too. Your doe looks awesome. I hope mine turns out close to that. I'm having my buck done by a guy that does nice work so I'm hopping to have my doe to put next to her and it look ok.

WOW, cute, not afriad to pick up road kill deer, does taxidermy (cheap at that) too bad there aren't many girls like you out there. You got alot of talent kid. Keep up the good work and good luck to you!

Girl you make me proud to be a kentuckian,and a very nice job on your first doe,shake your fathers hand for helping make a pretty young lady,and mostly for taking you hunting, you are the future of our outdoors sports,and to all those guys out there posting,I can tell you that all of KY's women,aren't fat and ugly and have a bunch of teeth missing,now you can see living proof,GREAT JOB YOUNG LADY,and if anybody makes fun it's due to jealousy or their inability to do things that you can!!once again great job!!
