From now till spring is the best time up north here. The sooner you get out the better chance you will be first in wintering areas.

RE: When should I start looking for sheds?
I found three today. One single and a pair that match. They were laying within two inches of each other.

In my area, Saskatchewan, Whitetails start dropping in Jan. and then mule deer drop around late Feb or early march. Find where deer have been wintering. Good areas include those with close feed and cover, so they dont have to travel as much. Find some deer trails and find their feeding areas and their beds. Good luck
