Scrape

I have a new scrape beside one of my feeders. How can I keep a buck working it?

While deer work scrapes year round, it may be hard to garner some interest out of him this time of year. His testoterone levels are so low and he's so worn out from the rut that he might just not have the energy to keep working it.

As long as you don't invade his territory too much and run him off looking at the scrape and messing with the feeder he will continue to work the scrape till the cycle for the season has finished. Put a camera on it and get a few pictures. You might find that more than one buck is using the scrape. I'm going to put a couple of cameras out tomorrow on scrapes with the grandsons.

Well he made it a few days ago and my camera didn't get any pictures. So I left it for about 4 days and all I had was a coon. I'm going to leave it for a week or two and try again.
