ORIGINAL: Hunting deer

What is a good gun for my son
He is 13
He can handle a 20 gauge
My dad got me a 20 ga Remington 870 Magnum with interchangeable slug and field barrels. I'm 25 now and it's the only gun I've ever had. I've taken 4 deer including a 250lb dressed 13 pt buck with 1 kill shot and a finishing shot. The gun has never jammed on me, never mis-fired, and I've never had to adjust the sites and it still groups slugs in a 2" radius at 50 yards. I clean it every time I use it, which helps.

I would highly recommend the 870, mine has been great for me! The combo barrels gives your son 2 guns for the price of one.

It also depends a lot on what you can afford. Here is a link to a site that has it for $390. Pretty good price for 2 guns in 1, although its about double what my dad paid for mine in 1995!

PM me if you want more info or with any questions about the gun.
