I used to be able too hunt a great escape route that was also a natural travel corridor. It was the only shallow spot along a river for about 3 miles.

Hunters would come along the river on both sides and would bump deer along the river and they would always head to this spot to cross. Myself and 2 friends had someone sitting there every day of the season for 3 years. Every day we saw deer there and it was either a big lone buck or a big group of does. 4 wheelers decided this was a good area to ride and ended up using it as a crossing,, they are also the reason no one is allowed too hunt there anymore!

Yup, got one of those spots for the past 16 years. 300 yds behind my house. A perfect escape route. My son and I shoot from 2 to 4 bucks off it every year except one. That year we got around 20 inches of snow the nite before opener and the 1st day. Luckily its on my own land!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I have a number of very good spots, lucky I guess. But one does stand out, I refer to it as my Honey Bowl. Obviously it is located in a bowl, it has a natural funnel that runs sw to ne and is usually torn up with rubs in both directions, being situated in a large timber stand, i have the luxury of setting up on a popular ridge that over looks a small diamond shaped meadow to the east and the timber ridge due south, which just happens to be the bedroom of the bucks. One of the reasons it is so daunting is I need a wind that is not prevailing during rifle, so in 5 years i have averaged about a day and half in it, but it always leaves me higher than a kite. I can't hunt it until rifle due to it's location and the access is through a cattle pasture that is locked and keyed until Nov. I have taken two bucks in 5 years in this spot but both have been pretty decent a 5x6 that grossed 174 and netted 161 7/8 and a 5 x 7 that didn't score as well but looks pretty cool at net 158 typical this fall. Both deer where taken from the exact ground location and brought in by rattling. Everytime I get my wind the hair on my neck tingle with the thought of being able to hunt &quot;THE HONEY BOWL&quot;.

I have an archery tree that is pretty good. It's not a funnel or in any sort of food attraction, just a intersection in the middle of the woods where a bunch of trails meet. Since 1997 I have killed a buck every year from this tree, and seen tons more. Except for this year(got one somewhere else). My dad has also taken bucks out of this tree the past 2 years. We have also shot 6-7 does from this tree in the same span. Going back to 1990 we have shot about 95% of our deer with a bow within 80 yds of that tree.

I have one, hunt on it every year. I know some people that have hunted over 30 years and they always go to the same place, and always get deer. I also know some people that have over hunted there favorite spot, now its not a hot spot no more.

I HAVE A SPOT LIKE THAT OUT HERE IN SOUTH JERSEY. WE HAVE BEEN HUNTING THIS SPOT FOR AT LEAST 8 YEARS NOW. I HAVE GOTTEN A DEER EVERY YEAR EXCEPT LAST YEAR. DUE TO THE HEATER IN MY HOUSE DECICED TO QUITE THE NIGHT BEFORE OPENING DAY. I JUST COULDN'T LEAVE MY WIFE AND TWO BOYS HOME WITH OUT HEAT FOR THREE DAYS. BUT I HAVE GOTTEN TWO DOES THREE BUCKS (1 FOUR POINTER AND 2 SPIKES ). MY UNCLE AND COUSIN HAVE TAKEN AT LEAST SIX DEER FROM THEIR STANDS THAT ARE LESS THAN 60yds AWAY FROM MY STAND.

Got a spot here in Utah we call the &quot;shooting gallery&quot; cause every time we go we shoot. Average opening day goes like this. Hike up to rock over looking canyon before light. First light can always see outline of distant deer. A large majority are always doe so it takes an hour or two to find a good buck or two. Shoot at least one buck and be back to camp by noon. Over the next few days we'll all fill our tags. Except last year we sat on our rock and were rudely taken over and had a deer stolen. See &quot;Stolen Deer&quot; in big game forum. Might have to find a new spot next year. Probably seen 3 or 4 dozen deer come out there the last 15 years.
