In the summer 2002 NWTF The Caller In 2001, noted that 37 million hunters and anglers spent $70 billion which is a huge boost to the ecomony. Hunters and anglers are acknowledged as the major source of funds for healthy fish and wildlife populations and as a major contributor to the national economy.

Noted: Roughly 34 million anglers and 13 million hunters over the age of 16.
