the one thing you can't live without???

The rush of adrenaline you get before and after the kill. I don't get buck fever, but I get pretty pumped, especially after the kill. When the rush and excitement are gone, that's the day I stop deer hunting. I don't expect that will happen any time soon though.

Y'all forgot to mention the latest issue of American Hunter - you need something to read before you use the TP.
Oh yeah - a nice fat 8 or 10 pointer walking by would be nice.

Well, you didn't mention arrows or bullets as exclusions, but I'm just being smart ass. I agree with Greg, time. And for me, public land. I really appreciate all the public land in WI, don't take it for granted at all. I could get access to private, but I've had some trouble in the past even with permission, and just don't want to deal with it. There is some really good hunting to be had on public land in WI, if you're smart, patient and persistentandif your expectations are realistic.

I'd have to agree on the public land. Though its not equipment. Public land is a huge thing. I have access to some fine hunting on private land right now. But in the last couple years that has been cut to a third of what I had. And houses have been built. Pressure has skyrocketed too. So I've been checking out some public land. Before about 5 years ago that is all I hunted on. MD, WV has some nice places thate were close for me.
Here my private land is closest (5 miles)so I have been a bit spoiled I guess and havent needed to find public land. But I'm going scouting this spring.
